Daisey Traynham Hi, I'm Daisey.

What I do

One designer, the whole arc: discovery, design, front-end, and ship.

For more than two decades I've turned complex, ambiguous problems into clear, usable products across healthcare, fintech, audio, enterprise, and consumer software. I design the experience, build the front-end so it drops cleanly into a developer's stack, and keep accessibility and AI in the conversation the whole way through.

Product & UX

Product design, UX strategy, information architecture, interaction design, research, usability testing, prototyping, design systems, data visualization, dashboard & workflow design.

AI-native

AI-assisted research, ideation, rapid prototyping & production with Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Firefly, and Magnific. LLM-powered search & UX concepts.

Accessibility

WCAG compliance, ARIA, semantic HTML, logical tab order, color-contrast, screen-reader testing (VoiceOver, TalkBack, NVDA, JAWS), inclusive design.

Design tools

Figma (components, variants, auto-layout, variables, prototyping, Dev Mode), Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects, Procreate.

Front-end & handoff

HTML, CSS, SASS/LESS, JavaScript, Flexbox, Bootstrap, design-to-dev handoff. Reads & edits in React, Vue, Angular, PHP & ColdFusion. WordPress (Divi, Gutenberg), WPEngine.

Also

Bilingual (English, Spanish), creative direction, branding, visual systems, video editing, illustration.

Enterprise · design + front-end

A multi-level management dashboard

toca.la, a browser-based songwriter's studio

Personal project · no NDA, all mine

toca.la

A browser-based songwriter's studio I conceived, branded, designed, and built solo, end to end, through an AI-native workflow. Proof, in a shippable product, that one designer plus AI can carry something all the way from idea to working app.

Creative range

And when I'm not designing software, I'm designing album covers.

Covers, merch, and artist identity for musicians and labels around the world. Same instinct as the product work: design and storytelling have always been the same thing to me.

Beyond the deliverables

The part that doesn't fit in a case study.

Twenty-six years of clients who come back by name usually comes down to moments like these.

When the right move is doing less

I talked a client out of features.

Two founders came to me with a simple idea that had ballooned, through everyone's enthusiasm, into something overwhelming. On a call, one of them admitted she felt lost and didn't know where to start.

So I leveled with her: begin with the smallest version that proves the idea, and put the big dreams on a "later" timeline. Facebook started as a campus directory, after all.

We shipped a focused MVP, and the project was back on track, along with their confidence.

The day the work made someone cry

Happy tears, over a filter system.

A business owner had run his entire inventory on paper for decades: stacks of sheets, sticker tags, file cabinets, and a walk to the building next door ten times a day just to check on orders.

I designed a system that did all of it in one place. As I walked him through it, he went quiet, took off his glasses, wiped his eyes, and said, "This is going to save me so much time."

Sometimes design hands someone back hours of their day, and they feel it.
